To our Arizmendi Community,
Unfortunately one of our member-owners recently tested positive for covid. In light of this news we’ve decided to close for the weekend to clean the bakery, allow any of our members who may have been exposed to get tested, and await results before re-opening. We are meeting (virtually) on Monday to discuss next steps and hope to be able to update you soon thereafter. While we are not required by law to close under these circumstances, we are choosing to do so to protect ourselves and our community.
You may have noticed many of these posts from your favorite East Bay restaurants recently (we sure have!) — the recent surge is real and we would like to remind all members of our community that if you are unvaccinated, the County of Alameda requires you to wear a mask in indoor public settings (such as the bakery); even if you are vaccinated it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you wear masks indoors in public spaces when you don’t know everyone’s vaccination status.
As members, we have and will continue to wear masks since re-opening our doors to the public, but have not explicitly asked our community to wear masks when entering the bakery. As the number of cases continues to rise we may change our policies regarding masks and indoor service and hope you will bear with us as the situation evolves.
Thank you for your support and understanding, we can’t wait to get back to serving you again.
